Exportation Pet Food Label and Package Requirement by China MoA
China MOA （China Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs） announced the issuance of 6 pet food regulatory documents. Pet food (pet feed) is now a separate regulatory category to feed products, which promotes its industrial development. This Guidelines is to interpret China's new pet food regulations, involving its administrative measure, labeling and hygiene provisions. At last pet food's import procedure will introduced as well.

3.1 Import procedure
Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China has release Decree 20 in April 2018, which carried our new requirements for imported pet food in pespective of lalel and package.
Label requirements under new regulations.
According to “Regulation on the Administration of Pet Feed”, Pet feed exporters should comply with new label and sanitary regulations.
Pet feed name should be displayed on conspicuous part of the label with its common name.
Compound pet feed common name should be marked as any of below and show applicable animal species and life stages in Chinese.
Compound Pet Feed, Complete Pet Feed, Complete Pet Food.
To meet pets’ nutritional needs under certain physiological and pathological conditions, compound pet feed should be marked with the word prescription in Chinese. Applicable animal should be indicated as well.
Additive Premix pet Feed common name should be marked as any of below and show applicable animal species and life stages in Chinese.
Additives premix pet feed, complementary premix pet feed or Premix pet feed.

Other pet feed common name should be marked as Snack food and show applicable animal species and life stages in Chinese.
Besides, enterprise operating feed or feed additive shall not open then re-package feed or feed additive and shall not re-process or add any substances into feed or feed additive.
